Remove Untitled Project

PostTue Jul 30, 2024 3:51 pm

How can remove the Untitled Project from the project list? I am not getting the delete option like other projects.

The “Untitled Project” provides a shortcut to create a New Project by double clicking the tile or item in the list. It is not an active Project.

That's a legacy thing that goes back more than 10 years. Basically, you can't launch Resolve without also having an Untitled Project. I'm not sure why you can't just launch Resolve and have it only show the Project Manager, but it's the way it is. Think of it as MS Word automatically giving you a blank document at startup (which is possible to do). It'd be nice if this were a user pref, but it is what it is.

It would be nice if they renamed it Create New Project since that's its effect and it's much clearer.

This makes more sense to me.

+1, but no high priority.
Probably also not difficult to change, too!

Now, with v20, it feels like a little higher priority. At least on my system, Resolve does load it as an active project on startup and always asks me if I want to save it when attempting to open an existing project. It's a little thing, but starting to annoy me. It's like it some how has the ability to collect my frustrations with the world and focus it all on that popup window... NO I DONT WANT TO F'ING SAVE THIS F'ING PROJECT THAT DOESNT EVEN EXIST!!

What if you just ignore it and move on with life?

Yes, of course. Sorry my sarcasm missed you. I even added a smiley face. :)
