Mute and Solo do work on multiple tracks. It is normal industry practice in audio that Soloed tracks play together, not switch between each other. You will find this in any DAW and hardware console. The only function that does not appear to be available is Solo In Place. Clicking on the S or M buttons in the track headers and mixer is working as it should in both the Edit and Fairlight pages here.
An example would be when mixing. You can isolate a track or tracks to check something like EQ or Compression. If you have the Solo In Place function, you can just listen to a track or tracks without affecting what is going to the Mix Bus. Mutes will do just that, mute the track and prevent it going to the Mix Bus. Mutes are usually automatable as well.
