I think a better approach would be to propose a separate FR that is more universal, such as allowing multiple nodes to connect to other nodes like multimerge, all at once (or any node that can accept an "infinite" number of inputs). - It would add even more flexibility overall (if this one is implemented).
This gives me some ideas. For example, if multiple nodes are selected, using a simple modifier key (Alt, Ctrl, Shift, etc.), clicking on one of the connection points could automatically draw lines from all the selected nodes to another node that supports multiple inputs, like a multimerge or merge3D. -
