Underwater Color Charts

PostTue Jul 01, 2025 3:25 pm

I just switched to Divinci Resolve Studio and love it so far after years with Premiere. I just found the color chart option on the color page and it's great. But as far as I can tell, none of the supported color charts are waterproof. It would be great if you could add one that can be used for underwater video. I currently use a DGK chart but would buy any one that you would decide to support that's designed for SCUBA diving.

(The X-Rite ColorChecker Passport, which you do support, is listed as water resistant, but it says it is not designed for submersion.)

Thanks for considering my request and keep up the good work.

You can always just adjust the charts manually, which we did for many years. I did that on at least two dozen National Geographic underwater film shows in the 1980s and 1990s, so it can be done.

There are housings for cameras. Surely there must be a way to get something going for the chart.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
