Edit Page: Insert Clip and stay on Source Window

PostTue Apr 07, 2020 12:19 am

Simple but important feature request.
When working with the short cut, whether it's Insert Clip, Overwrite Clip, or Replace Clip, the Timeline window is automatically activated.
When working on rough cuts and skip through the source footage, set your in and out, insert it, I typically wanna keep going just like that. As of now, I have to take my hand away from the keyboard and use my mouse to active the source footage window to keep going.

Everyone coming from Avid, or even Premiere and mastered her/his short cuts wants to avoid using the mouse as much as possible and this little but effective fix saves us time down the road when working on long tedious edits.

In the Edit menu, uncheck Switch To Timeline After Edit.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

OMG Jim, you're a hero! I can't believe I oversaw it after desperately looking through the manual for hours.
Thank you so much!
