Making motion graphics easier to create

PostSat May 15, 2021 9:49 pm

As someone who uses Apple Motion 5 and loves the "behaviors" animations for motion text, I would love to see "behavior" nodes brought over to Fusion. I love Fusion and I love doing motion graphics in it, but Motion 5 gives you those little cheatcodes you just can't access in Fusion. I've used the Follower node, it's ok, but doesn't give you what Motion 5 does built in.

Animators everywhere will thank you if you implement this for text and other animations as well.

For those with no experience using Motion, can you expand on the idea?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I completely agree. Motion’s great. Behaviors are kind of like Animation Curves or Modifiers, but with a larger library of behavior, and less particular about the attribute they affect. I feel like BMD is trying to steer Fusion in this direction — sShapes, Edit Templates, and Template bundles are the biggest recent changes to Fusion, and they’re all mograph-centric — but it’s a slow process.
