Render Queue - order of jobs and pause rendering

PostSat Aug 17, 2019 6:46 pm

Changing the order of Jobs in the Render Queue!
Also, pause job rendering and start another job manually.

I would like to have both capabilities. Pause in particular.

There's been more than one occasion where I forgot to check something before starting the render. So, I had to cancel, check, and start the export over.

If a change is needed, the Pause won't help. But if no change is needed, Pause would allow me to make that check and pick up where it left off.

Don't forget Media Encoder's ability to render two (or more) deliverables at the same time, while continuing working in Premiere. When Resolve was only a grading tool it made sense that rendering was treated as if in need of all system resources. Today there are many other tasks to carry on with in Resolve while the render queue is working. Yes, I do have two other Resolve render machines for this reason, but its not the case for everyone.

+1 to both

Also, please, add render in background with CPU/GPU priority low/normal/high, so while rendering in low priority we can go to Edit Page i.e to continue working.

What about an optional alert sound when the queue render has been completed?

I find it really useful on HandBrake,

Welcome to Resolve... where you will wait for years for uber basic functionality to be added. Features that have long existed in all other major NLEs. Except for Resolve.

I see Adobe is finally getting a pseudo version of Live Save, a feature which Resolve has had for years.

That criticism goes all ways, Ivan. No NLE is perfect.

BMD does listen. I appreciate that.

+1 for reordering and pausing

also it would be neat if we could scroll and navigate through the greyed out render settings (an switch between video, audio and file pahges) to check. they're locked, but at least looking at them would help a lot sometimes

Render speed options are already available. No need for a feature request!

As your illustration shows, there's no render speeds available between 10fps and 25fps.

These are not fps but percentages from the Maximum speed achievable by the computer. Are measurement units of processing speed of hardware, not directly related with video quality settings.

I always understand those as "frame per second", it will not make sense to have a [100] and [max] they will be the same.

I know, but I'm still right: 15fps isn't available as a speed setting. On my systems, generally on renders if I set a speed limit it jumps up to that and stays there for the entire render. The possible exception might be Neat Video NR: with that, I set it to 25fps maximum, and it bounces up and down between about 12fps and maybe 18fps.

I believe Walter is correct.
