Fairlight: select one of two linked clips with ALT

PostFri Jul 23, 2021 4:23 pm

In Edit Page one can select a single clip that is linked to other clips, without selecting the linked clips.

Currently the workflow to do this on Fairlight is not straightfoward.:
- Go to Edit page and do the edition there.
- Unlink the clip, select, do the edition, then link again.

My request is: Alt+Click selects a single linked clip on Fairlight, without selecting the other linked clips.

Also make it possible on all modes (Selection, Range, Edit), as many other features work on one mode but not on the other mode, making Fairlight edition unusable.

Also, do you have plans to enable Go to>Mark In / Mark Out on Fairlight someday?
or I would like to know what are the dark reasons why this is disabled since lot of versions ago.

More shortcut parity across pages is a much needed thing.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

The Edit page's Link Clips option (Clip menu) is not enabled on the Fairlight Timeline.

To link Clips on the Fairlight Timeline, use the Clip contextual menu > Link Clips.
Be sure to enable Linked Selection (Shift + Command + L) in the Toolbar.

The Link Clips command on the Fairlight page applies to Audio Clips only.

Suggest assigning a custom keybinding to Link Clips as by default none is set.
