Select All Offline Clips

PostThu Oct 28, 2021 2:47 pm

Requesting the ability to select offline clips in the timeline.

My idea of how this would work is just like how you're able to select flag/color clips in the timeline, I'd be able to do the same for Offline Media.

This could live under the Timeline Menu where you are able to select clips backward/forward etc.

Use case, conforming a show where some material reconnects and some doesn't. I'd be able to select all the offline clips in the timeline at once and then able to reconfirm from bins/storage.

+1

I often have to select all offline clips by colouring all other clips, selecting all those cips and moving them all to a new track just to select all offline clips.

I direct select all offline clips feature would be hugely efficient.

OR

Even better would be that when clips cant be conformed, they should still generate offline master clips. There are many reasons this is useful. But in this case we could just colour or flag all offline master clips then select all of those on the timeline.

You can create a smart bin for offline clips by entering the following rule:
Mediapool Properties -> Status -> Is -> Offline
You can save it and have it available for all projects, then you can select all offline clips and color/flag them.

I agree, but someone later is going to ask for "select all retimed clips", and someone else will ask for "select all stabilized clips" and so on.

I would prefer a smart selection command, something like the smart filters in the color page, so the user can define the rules of the selected clips, save it as a preset and give the option to assign a keyboard shortcut.

Absolutely. The filters should be on every page. It should be a standard UI feature, not just specific to one page.
