external Multicam View

PostThu Dec 02, 2021 3:55 am

I hear a few people ask the same question. Wouldn't it be good to see the muticam view on a external monitor. My thought would be putting it through the Clean feed option and giving the option to select program or source viewer on the clean feed output. I know it can be done in fusion as Clean feed is just another view and is not tied to either the timeline viewer or dedicated IO. at the moment when doing a 16x view on a image that is already reduce in size can be a bit a strain on the eyes.

As I said in my reply to the post in the Resolve section, I am not a multicam user, but I can send the multicam clip in the source window to a second monitor using Clean Feed.

But not while actually multicam editing, so in practice it's usually useless.

+1 to the request.

Agreed. No good work around either. :/

Maybe a simple addition to Workspace menu. "Multicam Display >"  :ugeek: :geek:

Multicam clip in the scource to the external monitor is the same as a scource clip in the external monitor. what wee need is the multicam view of the timeline in the external monitor 5x5 with 4k would be great

+1 still waiting for this feature. Or at least be able to resize the source/timeline windows in relation to each other. (make Timeline viewer smaller in order to see the cameras better). We edit projects with up to around 12 cameras, and even on 32" 5K monitors it's just too small to properly assess the material. Seems like it should be simple enough to implement, if only Blackmagic would get on board and solve this after 10+ years!

+1000 this is beyond necessary and deeply frustrating on a multi-cam scripted edit with a ton of multi-cam set ups and coverage.

Clean feeding optionally the Multicam view over the selected shot would be a nice to have option. I've been editing theater performances for 12 years and since I switched from Vegas Pro in 2019 I miss this ability from Resolve.

And here I was all excited because I just received my portable monitor and I'm in the middle of editing my first multicam...I can barely see the angles. And now I find out I can't. So sad!!!
