Forum dark mode/version option - not blinding white

PostThu May 19, 2022 6:08 am

I have most things set to a dark mode/version.
Come to this forum.
Blasted with the bright white layout.

I would love a dark mode as well. Quite a few websites will follow the regular mode/dark mode of your O.S. choice, but I don't know if that features is available with phbForum software.

You can force dark mode on both Edge and Chrome. It's not as good as having it implemented correctly, but it does get rid of the glaring white.

You can sort this with an extension. I use Dark Reader, that does a pretty good job with the conversion.

I'd like a dark mode too
+1

There are probably plenty users that like the old forum format but there's a new format too that a lot of companies already use. I wouldn't mind BMD switching to that. It's a lot more clear to me and creating replies, quoting and formatting is a lot easier and intuitive. The framework probably also allows for much simpler page design making a dark mode simple to achieve.

I'm referring to sites like:
https://community.acescentral.com/
https://devtalk.blender.org/
https://forum.borisfx.com/c/mochapro/6
etc.
