Progress bar or something like this for imports

PostFri May 20, 2022 12:36 am

I'm importing XMLs files with 3 to 4000 cuts (5 to 8h timelines).

And each time, Resolve is unresponsive, until everything is loaded.

Same thing when I open the project, there should be a loading bar, something that doesn't freeze the program, with a "stop" too. Resolve is totally unresponsive for a while. Fortunately, everything works fine at the end, but I had a crash one time.

I agree completely. And an actual Resolve progress bar is a lot more useful than a spinning beachball or hourglass or the usual OS icons.

Definitely.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

+1, same for other operations such as export or import project, archive project, copy media... These can take a long time and it's a bit disconcerting not knowing if things are working and when they are finished.

Also add exporting stills to this list. No progress indicators there either.
