Composition Visible Frame

PostSat May 28, 2022 11:46 am

It would be very logical to make the maximum displayed frame in the composition corresponds to the length of the composition on the Edit page. That is, if we specified a length of 60 frames on the Edit page, then 60 is displayed on the Fusion page.
It would also be ideal if the last frame was "pressed" to the yellow line, as it happens when we are at frame 0.

I would say that 59 is the last frame because it starts at 0, and 0 to 59 is 60 frames.

I mean, if you go to 60 frame in Fusion, then go to the Edit page and crop the frame, then go back to Fusion, we won't see the last frame. So that would make it 58 frames. In short, if in Fusion starts with 0 frame, then why in the Edit tab starts with 1? We need to make it the same.

Edit page starts with frame 0, timecode 01:00:00:00 or 00:00:00:00. If you set the upper right timecode to "Record Frame" it starts at 0 as well.

Initial timecode does not affect anything (at least in my current situation) and in general I do not understand why it initially (default) starts with 01:00:00:00 and not with 00:00:00:00.
This is what I'm talking about:

The Edit page shows 60 frame, but when I go to the Fusion page it shows 59 frame, then I go to the Edit page again and it shows 59 frame too. It is strange that 60 frame are displayed on the Edit page and not on the Fusion page. As I understand it, to make it work properly, you need to set the minus value, for example -01:01:01:01 or -01:-01:-01:-01
But you can't do it that way.

A feature often used in broadcast. We can change it under Preferences>User>Editing>New Timeline Settings.

Not quite.

You'll notice that the image in the viewer has that jagged line on the right side? Normally the playhead looks forward. But at the end of any media, you still see the last frame because the playhead is now looking backwards, to frame 59.

That jagged line is a warning for such.

What Jim said, you are going past the end of clip. If you had another clip there it would show its first frame, not the last one of previous clip.
