I'm not suggesting they should make the Speed Editor's functions so generic as to appeal to any editor nor should they provide support for other applications... however, I saw a thread a while back explaining that they deliberately locked it down preventing anyone from using it in another editor even if they wanted to try to make it work. This was likely more effort on BMD's part only to make it less flexible for users. This I do not understand at all. I see no reason to deliberately cripple users if they want to make it work in other applications with the knowledge that they won't be able to get any official support from BMD to make that happen.

And that's one reason why I don't like Apple and don't own any Apple products. Unfortunately, I will have to get a Mac at some point to be able to release some apps I'm developing on iOS because of Apple's locked down system, you can only compile apps for iOS on a Mac. Not thrilled about that either!
But I will likely get something used that's just good enough to do that
ONE task and do nothing else with it.
However like you I want it t be usable inthe Edit page which is where I do most of my work.
Same, I don't have a need for the Cut page myself and don't use it. It's very strange to make a Speed
Editor that doesn't work very well in the
Edit page.
