Lock Individual node(s) in the Color Page

PostWed Aug 10, 2022 3:07 pm

The ability to lock Individual node(s) in the Color Page without being allowed to be deleted while locked, would allow OFX nodes to be protected while color grades are applied or other destructive actions.

Currently, OFX nodes unique to a clip will be removed if a color grade is applied to that clip.

You can Append a grade, which simply adds those nodes to the nodes that already exist.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Appreciate that it's obviously not what the current 'Lock Node' mechanism was designed to 'lock'... but it does seem a little bit odd that one one can so very easily delete and/or overwrite 'locked' nodes without so much as a warning. I dare say that this may be a 'be careful what you wish for' situation though, so perhaps, if full locks (or warning alerts) are at some point deemed appropriate, then a User Preference to use the existing/legacy behaviour will also be appropriate.

If a Color Page node is locked it is impossible to then apply a grade which will delete the OFX effect.
Deleting a node on the Color Page requires a positive action to delete. It's not something that will happen accidentally!
