Add full filename after using %parameters in Export

PostMon Aug 15, 2022 7:25 pm

Hi,
Would be nice to add a full filename field in order to see exact name when using %parameters field.
Also add this in details render job in queue.

Filename preview is a simple but effective suggestion. Many other softwares have this. The only thing where it's shown currently is in the render queue, so you need to "add to render queue" first

None of the parameters work on my side too. Is the first time I heard about those parameters, but after testing they don't work. There must be a bug on DVR18 too, or I didn't read the manual properly.

+1 To show the resulting name.

What about %Timeline Name ? I've been missing that file it's name after the timeline name.

You can also try %Source Name to get the file name.
In order to see the output name in the queue double click the job.

It always seemed more logical to me that metadata variables were tailored for an 'Individual clips' workflow, where those variables relate to the metadata of already extant project media... not for a 'Single clip' workflow where the 'clip' on disk does not exist until it is written and is not a project item. That said, some of the variables may work, and I know folks do use them, but I wouldn't expect all of them to work. Also, I note you seem to be trying to write 'File Path' and/or 'Clip Directory' (same thing, no?) as part of a filename? Respectfully, not sure that makes sense, you'll just end up with a replicated folder structure.

clip directory and bit rate variables don't make sense on a single clip render job. note, they don't define the bit rate of your render, but of the source file. in a single clip render those are different in each clip, so probably that's why it struggles with the preview.

try something like %Timeline Name instead
