Reverse Effect check mark in Barn Door Properties, when Barn Door is closing, would be much appreciated. This could be used at the end of the last clip.

Did you try that Roger? I'm not sure you'll get the result you're expecting.
Let's have a return to the glory days, when press releases for new versions included text like "...with over 300 new features and improvements that professional editors and colorists have asked for."
You're right. I did try it but some other setting I made somehow reverted the initial change so I didn't see the true outcome (and I didn't pay enough attention to notice). Sorry about that.

I tried this but it's the other image taking effect.
I created a Fusion Transition and uploaded a video about it on my Youtube channel if anyone is interested. It is free and I think it will accomplish what you are asking for until BMD changes the default Barn Door Transition.

Most impressive. I'm in awe of your Fusion prowess.
Oh brilliant. However I'm on DR15 on account of having a powerless PC so I'm stuck in trying to find a solution.
I tell a lie. There is a solution in Edit using the second clip on two V tracks above the main one, using the 50% Left Crop on one and a Right Crop on the other. Easy (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Nevertheless I want to learn how you did this in Fusion and I'm stuck on assigning MediaIn2 to the second clip. (•‿•)

Hey, that's very good news. I ran into that with a conform some years ago and went crazy trying to reverse a Barn Door-wipe transition. I think I wound up exporting the clip in reverse and THEN it worked -- the hard way.

Dammit! That's a good and quick idea! I've been using the 2nd Clip on 2 V tracks above the 1st clip and using a Left Crop on one and a Right on the other.
With practice it's probably just as quick actually.
roger.magnusson wrote:Fusion transitions won't work in Resolve 15. It was first introduced in 16.2 I think.
Yes. I did a comparison from a video tutorial using v17 against my v15 and I didn't have Fusion Transitions or transitions with the Fusion button to customise them in Fusion.
