Audio priority in Fairlight

PostWed Jan 25, 2023 9:15 pm

When in Fairlight page, audio priority should be first and foremost.

Example: Playing over a section of the timeline that has a bunch of fusion comps on it will cause playback to stutter or stop because its trying to render the fusion comp. In Fairlight this should be ignored and audio playback should continue uninterrupted.

This has been how Fairlight works since it was integrated.

I have often seen a black viewer going over Fusion comps because the video render couldn't keep up.

It's likely something else is tripping you up. Some audio effects at the same timeline position maybe?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

You can check if it is Fusion (or video effects in general) by toggling View menu > Bypass Color and Fusion > All Grades.
