I'm pretty sure we mentioned this in the past... but why not.
Instead of just click for drawing shapes in teh color page, the introduction of a "free form" shape that: 1) will allow for quick draw of "infinite" point shape with the mouse or pen just by virtue of click and draw... 2) has tools for [pruning/simplify] where you can get all (or a portion of the shape) and with simple sliders prune/simplify the points numbers and the remaining point will elegantly try to fit the curve 3) applicable in any circumstance: you can click and point few points (as usual) then click and drag to add a free form shape then click the last point to close 4) it has a "density" value to see how closer are two points drawn ad default (or an [auto] for let resolve pick and choose...)

so you mean a kind of brush tool rather than the existing free hand pen tool? something similar, if not the same (the Paint node) exists in Fusion, so I could see this being carried over to Color aswell.

+1 from my side
Yes, color page, not fusion.

Yeah, I see the point. Several years ago, when Fusion got integrated into Resolve, I asked "hey, the window-drawing tools in Fusion are actually better than in Resolve Color. Can you change the Power Windows to be more like that?" No answer as of today.
