A better search for the Transcriptions

PostTue Jun 06, 2023 4:05 pm

I just realized that when searching for a word, it search for the exact word.
It's not good enough. Especially when transcription are never perfect.

If I search for "the" I want all the words with "the" in them to be selected.

Or an option for it (just take what any apps that can search for text can do, and add it to the transcription tool).

If we want to find all the "them" and "themselves", instead of just having to write "them", we have to do the search twice.

StoryTookitAI does it well.

I prefer things the way it is. Add support for * as a wildcard if anything.

Whatever the solution is used, it needs to be better than what it is now for searching in the transcription.

+1 for better search
I'd prefer the search to work on partial words without *, and if I really want a specific word, I use quotation marks.
But any improvement would be great, having to search for the exact word is not very practical.

A “match whole words only” checkbox or some such is a common discoverable way to handle this situation.

I think that would be best (and easier) first step.
