Don't know if there will ever be a dedicated photo editor, but for now...
You can certainly do time lapses - Resolve is setup to handle this as video (indeed, it is more "natural" for Resolve to look at image sequences this way.)
You can also do mass exports of color graded photos using the deliver page. Just load your images on to a timeline, do your grading, then export as individual TIFF images using the original source name and resolution. (No need to "export" or "save" from the color page gallery.)
Note: I have seen YouTube videos claiming that you need to set the still to ONE frame (not true) or use the export "stills" method from the gallery, which is way to slow and cumbersome IMO. If you need to create JPEG's or fix the naming (Resolve will add zeros) you can easily batch process with traditional tools like Bridge, PhotoShop, Affinity, etc.
