Dedicated Resolve Timeline File Format for Import / Export

PostThu Jan 02, 2020 3:41 am

Hi,
I want to see an official Resolve Timeline format that can be exported from one project and then imported into another. With the inclusion of Colour, Fairlight and Fusion along with it's own workflow, Resolve timelines are too peculiar and complex to be successfully exported and reimported between projects via FCPXML or AAF

I've recently been involved with a feature film that was primarily edited in Resolve. One of the biggest issues that came up on that project was the migration of timelines between projects. There were sometimes three editors working on the project in different locations (not using project collaboration). Every time a new timeline was created it was brought into the master project by copying and pasting between 'pancaked' timelines. This caused a large number of clips to be re-imported and duplicated in the project which in turn caused massive issues with Sync'd Audio.

* Please create an option to Export Davinci Resolve Timeline (in the same way that FCPXML and EDL and AAF can be exported).

* Please also create an option to "Import Timeline From Project" whereby, one can browse through the available projects in the Project Manager or else drill into a DRP and extract a timeline to import into a current project.

Thank you.
