Fairlight bounce mix to nowhere

PostMon Jan 20, 2020 5:31 pm

At times users need to bounce a track so that it can be run through a plugin (monitoring/analyzation) as fast as possible. In this scenario, It would be nice to be able to bounce the track, but not actually generate a new one, as the output isn't needed/important/relevant.

I was working on a long project over the weekend, and I thought I should bump this request.

It would have saved me a lot of time, if I didn't have to delete all the bounced tracks and files.

I could image this like a kind of audio proxy which gets layed over the current position (and all plugins on that disabled) and when switched off gets wiped out of the cache after a while.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.

Sadly built in utilities are still lagging pretty far behind what's available via plugins.

For example, I use this LUFS meter. The timeline graph is exceptionally useful, not to mention the ability to customize everything about the plugin.

The Youlean plugin has even more features. Not to mention all the other types of plugins on the market.

Imo, I don't think BM is ever going to be able to truly compete with 3rd party plugins manufactures, it's not their core business. I'd prefer they just make the underlying architecture as efficient and flexible as possible.
