Better still image vs image sequence handling

At present, importing an AAF or XML with 'Import clips automatically' will result in images being brought in as image sequences.

This is problematic working on documentaries where we have lots of photos being referenced, and the photos are numbered sequentially.

Resolve interprets these as images sequences and thus we end up with lots of 'images sequences' in the media pool.

This is two feature requests:
  1. Improve the handling of image vs image sequence import
  2. Add option in project settings to set the media browser default to 'Show as individual frames'

This is one of several lacking features and bugs that have a large time impact on the conform process. I'd be very happy to share some insights into the conform process on feature documentaries with any of the BMD resolve team members.

+1.

Many posts about this before, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to remind: still image handling needs improvement.

yes please please

don't rewrite names of incoming stills

please allow a project wide default setting for import images _as stills_ or as _image sequence_

thanks

Better still image handling in general...

The only camera RAW files supported without the need to convert to DNG are Canon Cameras.
There are a handful of Nikon RAW files that work natively and maybe one or two Sony Cameras who's RAW format came into Resolve natively and that was about it when I tested over a year ago.

One of the more irritating lack of user options in Resolve.

The individual stills need option to handle as individual images not as sequences of frames.
