Media Management: Please improve error reporting!

PostThu Mar 05, 2020 12:09 am

I just tried using the Media Manager to copy a project to another location, and became puzzled why it kept failing on a specific clip.

It took me awhile to figure out that it was failing because the clip in question actually went offline behind my back, when someone moved the file to a different folder.

The Media Manager should offer more helpful error messages, or a log file containing all of errors and the reasons for the error. Right now, it just says the that operation "Failed" without telling the user why it failed!

As an adjunct to this request, I would like for the Media Manager to continue through errors like this, and just copy whatever it is able to copy, and then offer an error log at the end of the operation that reports any errors that occurred during the operation.

+1
and then the missing/failed clips can be carried over manually, in their entirety and be force to Relink.
