Data burn in import/export

PostWed Jun 17, 2020 4:51 pm

Please allow import and export of Data burn-in: we have different projects and databases that need very similar (if not identical) Burn-in an we have to re-do it....

(Unless there is already an option and I should RTFM...)

There is an option to create Presets.

Thanks, I’m aware of that option...
Export to disk and load in another database/machine/archival. That is what is missing.

It would be nice if any feature that allowed the creation of Presets also allowed the Export/Import of those presets.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

This is a rather annoying issue I just came across. Migrated from a local database to a network database and none of the delivery export and burn-in presets can come to the new database!! What a pain.

I add my support to the suggested import/export of presets/burnins feature.

Yeah, this is one of a long list of things you can't easily "transport" to other systems and other sessions. I've taken to taking a cellphone photograph of the presets I use most frequently, but then I have to remember the relative positions and font sizes and all that stuff. Totally +1 on this.

I've managed to just copy bunch of XMLs from here to adjacent folder for new database. Got my burn_in presets, export presets etc all there.

The path you're probably looking for:

Code: Select all
C:\Users\<your_user>\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Resolve Disk Database\Resolve Project Library\Resolve Projects\Settings

Yeah, if only they coded this into the program as a drop-down Export option...

I see that they gave us an option to import presets for burn ins as well as export options in delivery, in 18.6

I can't yet install 18.6 on our main system because we're locked on 18.5 for unfinished projects.
