A menu option to select all offline files in the timeline

When reconforming big timelines, I loose a lot of time selecting offline clips. I would love to see a function selecting just offline clips.

Yes please!
Multiple selection of *any* type of clip is actually be something that the Edit Index should allow you to do, and it’s baffling that it doesn’t.

It seems to be simple to implement.

If the selection in the Edit Index window could select clips in timeline as well, it would be solved.

Another +1 for this feature request

Yes indeed. Selection via Edit Index is supported in the Fairlight page, it should be supported in every page.

A workaround we use to isolate the Offline Clips:
1) 90% of the time, all the Offline Clips are from one place -- a drive that's no longer connected, a folder that's deleted, something like that.
2) with that in mind, we look at the Media Page and sort all the clips by PATH. That way, we can figure out, "ah, all the missing clips were from Drive X" or "they were from Folder Z."
3) once you've grouped them all together, start doing searches on all available drives (hopefully under your roof) so you can figure out where it is, restore the file, and relink the clip.
But I agree: a one button SHOW ALL OFFLINE CLIPS would be a nice feature to have.

My workaround:
- In the Media Pool, select all bins (in the left panel).
- Sort the clips by Online Status.
- Select all offline clips and set Clip Color.
- On the timeline, use Select Clips with Clip Color.

-1 for adding a new single function button when everything we need is already implemented ... but, for some unfathomable reason, only in the Fairlight page.

I think the easiest solve would be for BMD to add an "Offline" option in Timeline > Select Clips with Clip Color > OFFLINE.
For those wondering why we can't just use the edit index/media pool smart bins for this - my issue directly relates to offline clips in the timeline itself. This happens when bringing in large XMLs and some clips are offline in the sequence but there is no actual media in the pool to connect to. So I would like to select everything offline, copy those to a new timeline and then make an XML out of only the offline clips to send back to editorial.

IMHO, BMD should improve the Edit Index -
there is already an option in the 3dot menu to show offline clips -
now if we could just select these clips in the timeline ...
In general, the Edit Index could be so powerful if it was done right.
Without the ability to select clips in the timeline, a very important function is missing.

Very much agree. Absolutely bizarre that this hasn't been implemented yet.
