Edit Index issue (Filter by)

PostWed Oct 14, 2020 1:49 pm

I have a minor issue with the Edit Index. The default "Filter By" parameter is "#" (shot number), which is not very useful. The default should be "All Fields", which is the top selection and is a lot more useful. Also, when changing from one view to another (for instance "Show All" to "Show Stills and Freeze Frames"), the "Filter By" parameter switches back to "#". "Filter by" should retain whatever you had selected previously.

I totally agree with this. I use the Edit Index all the time, and I still get tripped up by the fact that the default filter is "#".

I really wish BMD would give the Edit Index more love, because its one of its strongest features, and has so much potential for boosting productivity for editorial and conform tasks.

and, for me, the same wish extends to other text/search type fields eg Media Pool text search filter should default to 'All Fields' (not 'File Name') and default Smart Bin rule should similarly be MediaPool Properties ‘All Fields’.
Let's have a return to the glory days, when press releases for new versions included text like "...with over 300 new features and improvements that professional editors and colorists have asked for."
