Move Playhead to Cursor Shortcut

I recently started to dive deeper into Resolve and would am missing some features that I am used to from Premiere Pro. I understand that not all features may make sense, I also understand that I may just not have found it yet… so either way, here is one that I'd like to either know about or would like to see added to Resolve:

The ability to have a shortcut (usually I know it as CTRL + TAB) which has an action called "Move Playhead to Cursor".

This shortcut essentially reduces the number of moves to the time markers above the timeline and click there.

It just moves the cursor to the position of my mouse cursor with the tap of a button.

I have seen some have a script that does this as macro automation with some third party tool. But that's not really the point I would say. I'd hope this to become a native feature.

Half a year went by and I'd still love this to be added. Thus far I have not seen any movement but I have seen it mentioned in a few other posts. Please BMD.

With that I also hope that Blackmagic would start a `UserVoices` page that is not just like this forum but instead a site where users could vote on things and `BMD` can comment, give us a status update the way Adobe has been doing for a few years now.

I thin I would vote no on this. You have to move the mouse anyway, just click.

It's actually been requested before a few times, though I can't remember exactly where. Another implementation I heard of in premiere was mapping it to right click. Any way it's done, I'd use it all the time.

My first reaction was "Just click the mouse!" and I thought this would be pointless

But then I kept thinking and realized this would actually be great! Why?
Because currently, you can only move the playhead by clicking if the pointer is hovering on that thin timeline. That is annoying and time consuming:



If by mistake you have it on some clip instead, it would select the clip and not jump the playhead like you wanted to...

So I think his suggestion is great

A CTRL+click would do wonders here...

Too bad that there has not been any movement on this.

I am since back to Premiere Pro because I have this feature.

I'd still love to see it added and improve my workflow (and give me an opportunity to get back to DaVinci Resolve).

And I have some success to share which is that I finally got something working on macOS to get this working:

This shortcut and the lack of a modular timeline is literally the only thing stopping me moving entirely over to Resolve. Every time I have to reach to the top of the timeline and drag the cursor by hand it pains me inside.

You can click the scale above the timeline with the mouse. Not sure about a shortcut

+1 Please ad this feature. Coming from FCPX I just don't understand some of the design choices in other NLE's Everything takes so much longer to do. But I can't stay in FCPX if it keeps lagging behind.

+1 I too would like to add my voice to having this as a setting within DR. A lot of unnecessary clicking happens on that tiny space at the top of the timeline IMO.

I just created a macro with Keyboard Maestro to do that.
