Gallery: "Grab Stills For Selected Clips"

PostTue Dec 22, 2020 11:27 pm

Pretty much self-explanatory: I'd like to be able to select multiple clips in the Color timeline, then grab stills for all the selected clips into the currently selected Gallery bin, in a single operation.

Stills are based on the playhead frame, so...

No, that's not necessarily true.

You can grab ALL stills from a timeline by right-clicking in the Viewer and selecting "Grab All Stills", and choosing to grab the frame from either the first frame of the shots, or from the middle of the shots.

My feature request is specifically related to grabbing stills from selected clips, not single clips, and not the entire timeline.

Ahhh, I get it.

So I'll add my vote to this.

It's already possible.

Select clips.
Go to the "Clips" menu above the nodes area on the Colour Page and select "Selected Clips" then grab all stills as usual. Reset the "Clips" menu to All Clips to continue working.

It's not a single operation but it's quick.
Maybe if that menu had keyboard shortcuts, that may work for you?

That's a fantastic workaround that had never even occurred to me. Thanks for that tip! It works great.
