Speed Editor - Multicam on Edit Page

Maybe I'm just being dumb but I've always multi-cam'd my edits cutting live as the video plays back. All the videos I see online involving the Speed Editor show the new multi-cam processes you can achieve in the cut page. Don't get me wrong, they look great, but much use when I'm rocking out to a gig edit!

Would it be possible to allow the camera numbers on the speed editor to work in the edit page like a traditional multi-cam edit. Cutting cameras as you play back.

And (I know I don't ask for much), if you could re-program these numbers, so say you have only 4 angles. Cam 1 is the Cam 4 button, Cam 2 is the Cam 5 button, Cam 3 is the Cam1 button, and Cam 4 is the Cam 2 button. Might not make much sense but I like the buttons to match what I'm seeing on the screen visually.

Currently I do this with an external numeric keyboard, and just change the keyboard preferences but would be nice to be able to bin this off and just use the speed editor.

Much love

Thankyou and goodnight

Mark

no, the speed editor is only prepaired for the cut page with multicam

some functions are working in the edit page too, but not the multicam function

I think thats perfectly fine but neverless, this functionality should simply be added to the Cut Page.

It makes absolutely no sense to be forced to "paint" over a different angle with LIVE O/WR or to only be able to drop in 5 sec clips for regular, lenghty Multicam videos.

Might work for cute little cooking videos, but you need to be able to live switch cameras while the whole thing is being played back. I'd love to use my Speed Editor for Multicam Edits, but at the moment there's no way to do so efficiently.

Just to update this forum. The Conventional multicam clip angles, can be cut to and from using the Speed editor on the Edit page.

To do this:
  1. Make sure you can see both viewers on the edit page
  2. Change the left (source) view's mode to multicam.

  3. Your Speed Editor should cut between angles by pressing "CAM X" buttons on the speed editor.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like the "VIDEO ONLY" or "AUDIO ONLY" buttons work. In addition to the lights for the cameras not lighting up. However, being able to cut between angles, particularly on big projects, on the edit page using the speed editor should be useful.

Hope this helps.

Yes I use my Speed Editor on the edit page for multicam with 3 cam edits. Buttons work for the way I edit. I do select video only as I use separate audio for my edit not the multicam audio.
