Rate Stretch for Audio

PostThu Feb 25, 2021 10:45 pm

I use Rate Stretch in premiere frequently for timing music onto dance moves. I was looking at how to rate stretch audio only, and apparently you can't for some reason? You can rate stretch videos with the Ctrl+R retime tool. But the method doesn't work for audio. It would be very nice to be able to move from premiere to Resolve, but this one thing is pushing me into premiere.

Switch to Fairlight page, right-click on the clip, turn on "elastic wave." Control-click to add a stretch point, then move it left/right. Didn't you just post this in another thread? I know I just answered it in another thread.

*edit* Ya, here: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=84741

Does this not work for you?

Interesting that you re-time the music to the dance moves instead of the other way around, but it's definitely do-able in Resolve. I think people use it more often to fix ADR, which is why it's on the Fairlight page.

Is there a way to retime the audio when you retime the video instead or ripple trimming the audio?
