Nodes: Adding "Inside" nodes?

PostTue May 04, 2021 8:39 pm

I'm not sure what a good name for this feature would be, but I would like to be able to add a Serial Node that is automatically connected to the Key Output of the previous node. Basically, it would function like the "Outside" node, except the matte channel won't be inverted by default.

That sounds like a regular serial node but added with an automatic alpha channel connection.

I think the rule is:

If you ask for an “outside node” the key is inverted
If you simply ass a node and manually connect the output key of the first to the input key of the second, it wil be NOT inverted.

Correct. But I want to be able to add the node with the non-inverted key output automatically connected to the new node( just like how the Outside node works), so I can map a shortcut key to it, and not have to manually make the connection myself.

Yes. This is how the Outside node currently works.

I would like an inversed version of the Outside node, so you don’t have to make the Output key connection manually, like you currently have to do (or by adding an Outside node and manually clicking the Matte button in the Key panel)
