Sound library GUI

PostSat May 29, 2021 7:25 am

hello, I'm new to DaVinci, could you add a simple feature in the sound library: tree files.
Despite I understand why you designed the sound library like that, but it's really do not suited for me. I'm french, english is not my native tongue and before search a sound, I will have to search the appropriate word for it. I got a sound library of more than 15000 samples, collected for many years (still have my "Amiga years sound" collection in it). it's perfectly classified by class.

Could you just add the "tree files" requester just as shows on the pic?

I've been missing this. Much more usable. It makes sense.
I also don't remember the names of the thousands items on my audio library.

As a workaround, you could use a Sound Effects Library manager problem like Soundminer:

https://store.soundminer.com/

This is designed in Canada, so I believe it supports French and English fairly well.

I don't understand the purpose of not having a browsable library by default.

There should also be an option to merge all libraries so they appear as one source.

Browsable library should work also with arrow keys for keyboard based editors.

So when focused on the Sound Library Tab after its pressing its corresponding keyboard shortcut:

A-Z keys search for files AND directories from the search bar . (Currently the user has to click on the search box, which means to move the body to the mouse, this should be avoided for keybaord editors: the use of mouse)

And the most important (seems obvious, but it should not be missed):
- Arrow up/down: serves to navigate the files or folders
- Arrow Left/Right navigates the structure of the folders from root to parent directories.

I hope it makes sense.
