Source audio clip controls

Editors who work in high end post desperately need a few major features in the edit page.
A source audio clip mixer or when. you clip on the source monitor the track mixer goes over to the source side.. Why? because you can't easily mute or solo your tracks. this doesn't matter much when your source only has a couple of audio tracks but I frequently work with source videos with up to 24 tracks. I cant control or see what is what. in the source window in audio waveform mode, it just shows all the tracks with no labels or track numbers.

Also the inspector for a clip's audio should have a pan and level control for each track.

These two lacks of features makes it nearly impossible to work on high end projects in Resolve edit page.
And no, going into clip attributes to turn tracks on and off or mute there is not a workaround, and even if it were, you have no idea what track is what so it's useless. I cant spend a half hour turning tracks on and off trying to figure out what is on each channel, or just edit in 24 tracks and delete them one by one from the timeline..
We need a source audio mixer.. period with mute and solo.

Thanks

Agreed. I'd like to see the same flexibility for handling clip source audio in the Media page too. Jumping in and out of Clip Attributes is a needlessly painful process.

Out of curiosity, is this forum monitored by folks at BMD? Or it's just for people to vent about shortcomings?

I've had several Feature Requests implemented over the years.

Yes, they listen.

Would also be great to have a "delete silent audio tracks" option like in FCP.

This is a major shortcoming, yet it looks like it's been in the FR forum for a long time. Let's hope they do listen...

Yes. I agree, this would make things easier.
Also better scrub controls with mouse/gestures, and zooming for long clips.
I wish Blackmagic would focus on these bread and butter usability-issues.

Absolutely! We need more control over audio levels in the source viewer. It drives my client nuts and me nuts.
