Speed Editor: Add x position

PostSat Aug 21, 2021 10:06 am

Hello BMD,

First, I want to thank you for the incredible Speed Editor, which is really handy and speeds up my work on the EDIT page (yes, not the CUT page ). But I'm starting to get used to the CUT page as well, and the Speed Editor is really great.

Now I would have a feature request:
there is the YPOS (via the close-up button), now it would be nice to have the XPOS to the right of it (via the place-on-top button).

Or is there a chance to get an editor to customize the functions in the future (functions could be pre defined, just to be assigned to the buttons)?

I guess some of the other guys require a different function.

Thank you very much.

Many greetings,
Jeff

I would absolutely love to be able to customise all the buttons on the Speed Editor.

+10 on this

I mean, if we can translate Y, adding the X direction on the button next to it (Place on top) would be great!!! Currently, our editors quickly use the YPOS but then always needs to go into the inspector/transform and use their mouse instead to do the X Position. There are many instances where panning left and right is constantly required.

This would be a very welcomed feature in the next update for the speed editor indeed! That an perhaps on the Editor Keyboard as well.

Thank you!

So far, from what I can see, most community requests for the Speed Editor have been ignored by the Blackmagic Design team. That's a shame, because it can be so much more useful and functional than it currently is. Adding the ability to adjust the X position is certainly one of those no-brainer feature requests that will immediately improve the value of the controller. It's very simple, just at the function as a double click on the "Place on top" button
