Please support a current version of Postgresql

PostSat Nov 20, 2021 4:04 pm

I need to update my box to a more current Postgres but I cannot do that and use Resolve. Please update Resolve to use a newer version since 9.5 is no longer supported and the installer no longer includes it. Version 14 should be supported through 2026 according to Postgres.

I wonder if the issue is larger compatibility between Linux/Mac/Pc….

Nope.

It's more about changes to PostgreSQL behavior after the 9.5 branch

It would require someone spend time to investigate what sorts of issues could manifest in the database schema when changing to a newer PostgreSQL release.

It seems more a classical case of "if it ain't broke..."

But I suspect the death blow of the 9.5 branch may finally force a few hands...

eventually.

I hope.

Yes please! And also (on linux) use a newer version of Qt, that supports hiDPI scaling.

+1 please update the PostgreSQL to the latest version 14 (?)

Why does resolve use an OLD unsupported PostgreSQL database?

Just as an FYI I have been using PostgreSQL 13 for almost 6 months and have not had any problems with it. Obviously please do your own testing, but it seems like if you are adventurous you can make the leap.

The latest release of Resolve supports PostgreSQL 14.

It's only the Resolve Project Server application that still requires an older version, so it depends on if you need that or not.
