"Render and Replace" for Audio clips (In Bulk) -
Hey there, first post; if I break any rules, give me a slap.
I'm very surprised that Resolve is yet to have a "Render and Replace" option for audio clips.
I recently was attempting to export a timeline to an .AAF format for AVID Pro Tools for sound mixing/mastering.
However, upon importing the .AAF file into Pro Tools, I noticed that all of my fades, retime, and VST/Fairlight FX were absent.
Understandably; not all editing software gets along. Thankfully, I thought of a perfect solution; render and replace the clips while still within DaVinci Resolve, and re-export the .AAF file with the new sound clips with retime, fades, and FX all "baked in".
Unfortunately, this option was not possible. (Not reasonably, anyways.)
Because a "Render and Replace" option does not currently exist for sounds either individually or in bulk, my only option to achieve "baked in" sounds was to use the Fairlight page to export each clip individually, and drag each one back into the timeline one at a time.
The project I was working on at this time had used upwards of thousands of adjusted SFX clips, so the "individually" option was not viable as the project was due within the next decade.
As much as I love Resolve, especially compared to software like Premiere Pro; I'm shocked to see such a necessary feature missing from Resolve. Adobe currently has the software beat in this field for bulk audio "Render and Replace'-ing. I really hope this feature could be added into an upcoming update.
Would love to discuss more, if possible!
