add feature: clip attribuites

PostThu Dec 23, 2021 8:58 pm

hi

i wish to talk this clip attributes.

clip attributes is used Widget dialog, this widget is not good for many files (clips) because i need change many clips timecode so i must click (right button of mouse), click "clip attributes" so this are many times repeat..

so i think maybe good to convert from widget to list items (style table sheets) so i can change directly there : editing timecode or other editing, without many times "click" the right of mouse..save a lot of time..

i see: there is ready the list view in BIn ,so i think will be good editing directly it editing box (timecode, other attributes) without open dialog widget..good idea?

This is already a feature request: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=140476

Some suggestions:

For bulk editing, you can select multiple clips and edit Clip Attributes for all of them at once.

Likewise *most* (though not all) clip metadata can be bulk edited in the "metadata pane" (again with multiple selections, or, as long as you have the metadata pane open, most attributes of single clips are editable at any time without a pop-up.

For bulk purposes, setting timecode can be scripted, which may be useful for your use case (I can't tell exactly why you are trying to do): viewtopic.php?f=21&t=73220

Based on my messing around, "Current Frame Timecode" is just the current location of the playhead on that clip. You can set it quickly (without open Clip Attributes) by moving the playhead in the Source Viewer (or, type a timecode manually into the timecode box to jump to a specific timecode).

That leaves "Slate Timecode" and "Offset" as the only properties that aren't easily modified. I'm not super familiar with the workflow uses for either, but I would say see if you can find a workflow workaround.
