3 things I would suggest in new versions

1. When exporting, export to use FFmpeg for the compression. Example and why. When I export from DR I put my videos on YouTube my website etc. Video Quality is very important to me. But yet so is a small size so all can stream at the highest quality. If I export from DR say mp4 restrict to 6000 Kb/s the size will be fine but the quality will be terrible. So what I have to do is export for DR with Quality set to Automatic/Best and then I use handbrake (ffmpeg) and video ends up nice and small and looks beautiful. if you could replace your export code with free open source ffmepg and or MKV support with AV1 and VP9 options would be great and save a lot of time, steps, and end up with much better quality videos, and thats what its all about.

2. When exporting, under Video Quality, an option for same as original would be great. so when I export a 4GB video it doesn’t became a 14GB video

3. Editing in the timeline, when mouse is over the play head the mouse wheel would control zoom in and out of the timeline.

Is PCM audio supported in MP4? I thought it was not.

The MP4 specs don't allow for PCM audio but several cameras has it anyway. Resolve can ingest it just fine but can't render it (except for by accident on Linux where the MP4 audio format dropdown is empty and it just muxes the PCM audio). For deliverables that need H.264/H.265 and PCM audio, a QuickTime .mov file is much better suited.

Ok. then I will remove that request. I just would like to output at least 24bit as I recard audio at 32bit WAV files. I spend a lot on the best mic's and recarding equipment so I just hate to stomp on it that much.

Try using multi-pass encode for mp4/h264 files

Does DR have 2 pass? I have never seen that setting.

It might be macOS only. I actually couldn't find it first on my Mac, but after creating a timeline it popped up in the settings and now it's there even if I don't have a timeline in the project. Strange.

But 2-pass encoding is only useful if you need to target a specific file size.
