Allow different output blanking aspect ratios on timeline

PostFri Jan 21, 2022 7:21 am

Often times the project wants to be able to have clips that are of different aspect ratios. The most common examples are widescreen 2.35:1 with period flashbacks display in 1.33:1. I like to request a feature where I can set different in/out marks and then select an Aspect Ratio as the output blanking within the marks. I can have many of them as needed.

You can use this DCTL I made, if you want. Throw it on a post-clip group node and cjoose the blanking you want for that group. I use it a lot when I have docs with some 4:3 archival that I want to all have the exact same frame, when the rest of the timeline is a wider aspect ratio. You can use it at clip, group, or timeline level, and it does the crop after size transformations.

I didn't know it existed since DVR 15. Thanks for letting us know here. Your DCTL did work out for me so thank you for that as well.
