Studio Effects in Unreal Engine

PostThu Jan 27, 2022 9:06 am

I purchased Studio for two reasons, the relevant one in this case is because of the amazing effects it can accomplish. I'm totally happy with this, of course, it's very transparent with what you're paying for.

To use these effects it means pre-rendering the cinematics and applying them in Resolve, and it's no problem. However, most games use realtime trailers and I was thinking it would be amazing if there was a way to apply these in realtime during gameplay, not just for trailers (that's the main thing) but even in the game.

I do not think this would be easy, I have my doubts whether it's even feasible, I just wanted to get the opinions of those who would actually know :)

PS. It's my first post here, it mentioned real names which had a separate field, so figured username was for login but it's really not clear. Edit: Now that I see my post and it isn't as I thought, feel free to change my username to real name mods.

If I understand you correctly, you can already do this using the Resolve Live feature if you have a compatible capture card, like a DeckLink or UltraStudio.

Of course it won't be inside Unreal Engine, it would just be effects/grades applied to the video output.
