Support for 1.65x and Custom Pixel Aspect Ratios

PostFri Jan 28, 2022 11:40 pm

Doing a job right now shot on the Panavision Ultra Vista 1.65x anamorphics and Resolve's inability to render at native pixel aspect ratio or a custom one is making the workflow with VFX extremely difficult and convoluted.

The render window should offer support for rendering at all the same pixel aspect ratios as are available via the Clip Attributes (for compatible codecs). Understandably, some codecs probably do not support rendering at non-standard PAR, but formats like OpenEXR do, and that is what we are using in this instance. Resolve should also natively support all aspect ratios of currently produced and used lenses via that Clip Attributes dropdown.

Take away all the preset and just allow for a two number input.

1:1 is the default.
