Hi there,
THE PROBLEM
We produce 30-80 timelines across online ad and social formats per movie title. The source files are 6-60sec, are 99% edited but require minor edits, masking, end-animations, local dates and legals.
And because deliverables can use 500-1000kbps, TV/Film timeline settings are often moot. We have to manually edit timeline settings 100s of times a month across multiple titles which is silly.
e.g. Here's 'Bullet Train' and I've only just started the social assets. 'Where The Crawdads Sing' had many more and titles like the last Spider-man required more again. And that's before in-cinema motion posters and animated outdoor/mall sites - that's a lot of different timeline and audio settings...

Yes, we're still migrating from Premiere (and yes, OS-native project files would still work better than Resolve's DB system for us).
FEATURE REQUEST & MOCK-UP
- Move 'Use timeline settings' tickbox into new 'Timeline Settings' dropdown.
- Add an option to apply timeline settings (resolution/ratio/fps etc) from selected media.
- Remember the last option chosen.
This particular window is found by right-clicking media and choosing 'Create new timeline from selected clips...'

That way, each of us could choose the option which works best and nobody need care about other people's workflows or jobs - right?
Cheers, Ben
PS Sorry if multiple requests (not started by me) break forum rules. I started my own request because other threads didn't provide much context, or had descended into zero tolerance/understanding for workflows outside film and TV - and/or mindless "no way" comments.
