I really don't understand why there is no way to calibrate Clean Feed using LUT!
It is impossible to use ACES and Color Managed projects with a non Rec709 timeline gamut and with calibrated output.
It is impossible to use Scopes and also have calibrated output.
It is impossible to use Clean Feed and UI viewers calibrated both.
Jim Simon above has the answer. Read page 2756 of the Resolve 18.1 manual, "Limitations When Grading With the Viewer on a Computer Display." This explains why it's unwise to try to use a computer display for final color correction. The same problem also exists with the "Clean Feed" output, since it's not color managed.
I've been using Resolve since 2010 (and daVinci 2K for 10 years before that), color management and calibration has always been necessary. We've never monitored from the operating system, because there's too many ways it can go horribly wrong. With an UltraStudio or a Decklink, it's relatively easy to hook up an external display and feel confident that what you're seeing is accurate and can be relied on day to day.
I go a step further and use another computer for Omniscope (or Scopebox or your choice of external scopes), but it's basically on the same loop as the monitor. That way, whatever I see on the display is also on the scopes. It's a more tweakable way of monitoring than using the internal scopes within Resolve... but we do check it every so often with Bars to make sure that the external scopes and internal scopes precisely match.
