Please add more sub-forums to Resolve

Resolve's popularity is clearly taking off based on the amount of posts that appear daily.
The downside is that this makes it sometimes a lot more difficult to find answers to questions I might have, but more importantly it makes it more difficult for me to help people.

My main expertise is related to the Fusion page. So I'm always scrolling through the list to find Fusion questions that I might be able to help with. But to find those I have to wade through Fairlight/Speed Editor/Cut Page/Color page questions.

I strongly feel that splitting the forum up according to page will help streamline the user interaction on this forum a lot.

+1 Definitely for a Fairlight sub-forum.

+1 for organizing it to a few subforums according to specific areas that are clearly separate.

I think this would be a bad idea, trying to get everyone to post in the proper sub-forum.

Hell, even with just one Resolve forum, I see Peter moving posts into here regularly because they were initially posted elsewhere.

The thing is that now it's a big bin that I sometimes don't even bother going through if I'm away for say a day or two. The 'case load' becomes too much. If people are looking for other people on this forum to spend some of their valuable time on helping them, the least they can do is put a little thought, say 10 seconds, into posting at the right place. It helps me, it helps them get help quicker. What's not to love?

I would prefer a tag system, so the user can add one or more tags to his topic from a list of predefined tags.

People who get confused easily can post in general Resolve subforum.

How is having an organized filing system more complex than a non-organized one?

I don't know if sub-forums are needed (just general thought, simplest way is the best of all).

Actually, success of resolve hide others hardware forums. It may be difficult for contributors to help others like readers to get infos on their beloved products ;)

New posts listing do not mention forums. Introducing origin of posts may improve reading comfort...

New posts listing containing info about which forum the post was made into would be nice. But it would actually benefit from having subforums, otherwise there is really not much to inform about anyway.

You can’t believe the number of posts I’ve move to the Resolve forum which are clearly discussing Resolve.

yes, people are too stupid to post in the right forum and the more categories there are the harder it gets.

the only thing I would implement:
for a new topic, it should only be possible to send it if the platform
must also be clicked and this would then be at the beginning of the headline.

I didn't realize forum is supposed to cater to lowest common denominator. Maybe they can read the forum manual, it could be very long too.

Jokes aside, stupidity can't be cured by pleasing the stupid.

I can imagine that being a lot of work. Maybe you should consider just not doing that? If people can't even find the right forum, I'm not sure they'll be able to manage using Resolve anyway

+1 A forum per page tab in Resolve would be helpful.

I think it's a good idea. A page for each tab, and/or maybe one just for bugs (or anything that people perceive as bug)

And if people post in the wrong sub-forum, it shouldn't matter, it already happens constantly, and I'm not sure that having someone to move them manually, and constantly, is a good use of time. Maybe when it's obvious and a mod sees it, why not moving it.

I just hope that it's not a requirement to have to scan pages to see if something is in the right place. I'm sure it can be frustrating for the one having to to that. Sometimes users need to just learn by themselves - you didn't post where most people will be able to help you? that's on you.

Don't get me wrong, I like when things are where they belong, but at the end of the day, if someone needs help, or want to share something, they should at least try find the right place to post if they want an answer.

What would be better imo is to be able to move our post ourselves by selecting the right forum page if we make a mistake., we already have the ability to delete a post (for a certain period of time, or if someone responded to it?).

I'm fine with how it works now, I'll be find if there are sub categories.

Sometimes I feel like I'm polluting the general Resolve page, then it gets buried pretty quick.

There are pros and cons to, but I believe the pros are prevailing in this case, and the rule (actively enforced by Peter :D) to not post duplicates is already there so there are no more risks for that.

Even if there was a subforum for each tab you'd still need a general forum (otherwise, where would I put a question about File > Media Management or Workspace > Data Burn-in). That would probably mean people would post in the general forum for everything anyway. :)

The general forum is DaVinci Resolve (for the software). There is a Fusion sub-forum, why isn't there at least a Fairlight forum? The three big acquisitions by BMD were Resolve, Fusion and Fairlight and they still behave differently within Resolve overall, so it stands to reason for me. I always use search anyway if I want a specific answer.
