Other proxy formats than 264, 265 and ProRes422
I am not clear why the choices for proxy generator are so antithetical to a smooth and small workflow.
The 264 and 265 formats are not great for all for most GPU's and therefore are not ideal proxy formats, and slow down many systems, even if you have Apple silicon with dedicated hardware decoding, ProRes proxy or DNX LB are still smoother I think and cause less work for the cpu and gpu. And then the ONE ProRes choice is 422 instead of 422 LT or Proxy, I don't get it. This is contrary to every professional workflow used for large projects. We always avoid long gop formats for editing if we can.
This makes no sense to me at all. Can someone elucidate why these are the only choices for me?
