In the latest version of Resolve you removed the black sun highlight correction. Would you be so kind as to add that feature back? We still use the BMCC and BMPC cameras that both exhibit this issue and that correction feature is very important to us.

If it was a decision regarding UI maybe move it in a menu somewhere or in the Effects tab.

The current version of the manual (Oct 2022) still references this feature... Maybe they moved it somewhere in the UI but I be darned if I can find it...

They also refers in manual about shortcut of memories that are now linked to other features.

I think they confirmed it was removed in another thread and they suggested to use 18.0.3 if we still want the feature.

Bring it back!

Hopefully we make enough noise here to have it restored. Especially since its not a new feature that they need to "invent".

Telling us to create a separate boot drive to have a version of 18.0.3 just for sun highlight correction is such a disappointing response.

Under Mac is so easy, change the name of folder to install again newer (older) version, and so … run the version that you need :-)

Under win is a bit complex for bad attitude of windows to have fixed folders and out of folder library spread over all system folders

I'm not sure what the reason for removing it from Resolve was. I did occasionally encounter this problem with BMDRaw, and some of the time, the Black Sun button fixed the problem, and other times it did not. In all cases, the person running the camera was clipping the image a little bit. Dropping the level 1/3 or 1/2 a stop would have fixed it on set, so it's frustrating to encounter.

I'd say give us the choice and put it back with the BMD Raw panel controls.

it wasn't just BM cameras that did this though, I've used it plenty of times on some Alexa (and other formats) shots. It worked well. Maybe an OFX option if possible?

Even if BMD doesn't want to restore it, it doesn't take much to write a sentence or two to explain why or suggest a workaround. I don't cry fore support or customer care all the time, I rather try to sort my problems out by myself. But this issue is different and I have no idea how to work around the missing feature.

Usually they do listen but I wonder why they never gave a statement why they removed this feature in the first place. Even if there are good reasons to not re-implement it, they could maybe provide a workarround, maybe a DCTL or something.
