Custom Action Shortcut Keys

I have a feature request which could potentially be a massive time saver. I'd like to be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to a user-defined series of actions (I guess it would be a bit like a macro command or a preset).

For example this could be used like:
Applying a user defined Stabilisation mode/cropping ratio/smooth/strength all with one button press on the selected clip(s)
or
Changing a clips speed to 50% and ripple the timeline with one button
or
Increase/decrease exposure of selected clips by user selected increments (e.g. 0.25/0.5/0.75/1 stop)
or
Trim foot/header of all selected clips by a user defined amount and ripple

The idea is to take away repetitive keyboard/mouse actions that editors encounter multiple times daily and replace with a single keyboard command. They could have multiple shortcuts for different variations of their actions such as slowing a clip by 25/50/75% or having ones that ripple/don't ripple. It would really be free for the editor to truly customise their workflow.

Using example two above, the current method would be right mouse > change speed > type in the speed > select ripple (if not already selected) > press change. In total that's five buttons or boxes to use. Imagine if you could just press a single keyboard shortcut and it's done!

Just an idea!

I think whenever that's been requested by Avid or Final Cut or Premiere users, the developers basically say, "well, if you want that feature, just buy a Macro program for fifty bucks." So it'd be tough to force them to build it into the software for free.

BTW, there has been "Learn/Recall macro" and "Start/End macro" buttons on the Advanced Panel for many, many years, and they've never been implemented as far as I know. It'd be nice to see that happen someday.

Can't the current scripting abilities cover this?
