Make these toggle on off. "Switch to page" Command+1-9

Please can you make these keyboard shortcuts toggle. I love opening these pages with keyboard commands but to close them i have to use my mouse to close then and regain my windows space.

I think this would be a super easy update. I want to touch my mouse as little as possible. and closing some tabs with toggle key commands would help severely.

Thank you.

Hi Morgan,
Please be aware that this forum is specifically for Software Developers, it is not a direct line to the developers of DaVinci Resolve.

Instead, I recommend posting your feature request in the DaVinci Resolve Feature Requests forum:

If I understand the request correctly, you want to move between pages with Keyboard Shortcuts? That would be:
"Shift+3" - Cut
"Shift+4" - Edit
"Shift+5" - Fusion
"Shift+6" - Color
"Shift+7" - Fair Light
"Shift+8" - Delivery

You can also add "Open in Timeline" under the Edit section of shortcuts. I made that one "Cmd+Shift+4" so that I can select something like a compound clip or nested timeline and open it with out having to right-click. You can also do the same for "Open in Fusion" which I set to "Cmd+Shift+5". So they're like modifyers of the main "Shift+4" and "Shift+5" page switching.
So now:

"Cmd+Shift+4" - Open in Edit
"Cmd+Shift+5" - Open in Fusion

Making those standard would probably help out a lot of people.

The ones you CAN'T toggle YET are the different areas of the screen like "Media" or "Properties". This is especially noticeable in Fusion for "Spline Editor" and "Keyframe".

Here was my request for such a layout...

not exactly.

I want Command+1-9 as they are now but If I press the same keyboard twice say
(Command +2) it opens the media window. I want to be able to press that same keyboard shortcut (Command+2) and have it close the media window. Saving me screen real-estate.

Right now Command+1-9 open up window panels I just want to be able to close them with the same keyboard shortcut that opens them.

There are two Workspace controls:

• Active panel selection - these set keyboard focus to the specific panels, displaying them if needed. This allows you to invoke In (or Delete) and know the context of invocation. By default, these are mapped to Cmd+1 through 9.

• Show panel in workspace - these toggle on (and off) the display of panels in each page. Useful if you want to quickly look at metadata or the index and hide it away, or get more space for your viewers. These do not have hotkeys assigned by default, but can be customised as shown.

Ben,
Please try 19.0 b5 - which has the following bug fix:
Addressed an issue with toggling Fusion panel visibility with show panel key shortcuts.

If you manually assign shortcuts to the different views it works.

At this point the preassigned keyboard shortcuts are all over the place:

F4 - Expand window(?) in Fusion but undocumented in the Keyboard Shortcut Window?
Nodes - F5
Console - F6 (like in Fusion but not present in Resolve menu)
Keyframe - F7
Spline - F8
...
...
...
F11 - Modifier (Extremely random)

This is especially bad because the natural order of figuring out which key does what would indicate that whichever key activated "Spline", the natural progression would be the following key to the right activated "Keyframes".
Based on F7 being for "Keyframes", you would assume that F6 brought up the "Splines" window but it brings up "Console" which is a pretty random and a lesser used window for most users. The natural progression would be to mirror the order in the top ribbon from left to right.

Since multiple function keys were skipped because of the edit page functions I suggest a more natural flow.

Resolve Studio Menus
In Edit Page:
F1 - Media Pool
F2 - Effects, Effects (both in Fusion and Resolve Pages)
F3 - Index
F4 - Sound Library
F5 - Quick Export
F6 - Mixer
F7 - Metadata
F8 - Inspector

In Fusion Page:
F1 - Media Pool
F2 - Effects, Effects (both in Fusion and Resolve Pages)
F3 - Clips
F4 - Nodes
F5 - Spline
F6 - Keyframes
F7 - Metadata
F8 - Inspector

This allows for mistakes and a quick mental mapping without having to memorize every key much like how "Shift+ 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8" move between the different pages. The panels now mirror the progression displayed in the top menu. I've mapped mine like this and it makes a world of difference.

Something very important! Please disable the F4 "Maximize Nodes" shortcut that is hard baked into the Fusion. Either let it function through the rest of the keyboard manager or something. Using the above layout is awesome EXCEPT hitting F4 in the Fusion Page maximizes the Nodes as well as enables and disables. Currently there is no way to fix or customize that. It's not a deal breaker because who actually hides the Nodes in Fusion anyways? :) mostly...

If you enable "Per Page - Keyboard Mapping"...

I realize that this is out of order for the Color Page but the shortcuts still work. It would be best if each page had their own shortcut mapping. Then you could make the function buttons on your keyboard match the menu progression for each page. You would never have to guess which button did what again.

If nothing else, please consider removing the hard baked F4 maximize Nodes shortcut.

Thanks for enabling the Toggle function on the menus. Greatly appreciated.

Again, thanks for adding this feature.

I tried to enable these changes in Fusion Studio 19b5 but the built in keyboard short cuts override the changes made with the hotkey editor.
